Preparing the ESRD community for an emergency before it occurs is a priority at Network 16. Living with a chronic illness that requires ongoing life sustaining treatment makes being prepared of the utmost importance. On this page you will find resources to help you to get prepared and stay connected in the event of an emergency or natural disaster.
Current Closures:
No Network facilities have been reported to be closed at this time.
Facility Closures: If your facility experiences any alteration to normal facility operations, schedule, or ability for patients to access dialysis care, complete this emergency status report. Access this brief online form from any device.
Some examples: Power/water interruptions, natural disasters, roads are not passable for patients to get to dialysis/home patients to get needed supplies, evacuations, disruption due to COVID-19 coronavirus.

The Kidney Community Emergency Response (KCER) Program provides technical assistance to End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Networks to ensure timely and efficient disaster preparedness, response, and recovery for the kidney community. Also included on the site are resources for emergency management preparedness and response for individuals, patients, staff and organizations.

CMS requires facilities to contact their local disaster management agency at least annually and as needed for support with restoration of services or to obtain medical resources such as PPE in the event of an disaster or emergency. Please refer to your state guidance for contact information
